Tag hats

cute hat – jessica? – pike place market

i’m sad you can only faintly see the floral pattern on her tights. have you been wearing tights this june? yeah, me too.

cute hat – ??? – georgetown

remember when it was sunny?  here’s hoping the sun makes it’s way back soon…

urban casual – josie – bellevue

josie bissett was so NICE! i’m not accustomed to approaching celebs for photos… when i shoot music, i take the photos i want for 3 songs, and then have to leave. but i asked her for a full style shot, and on top of graciously posing, her husband then asked if i wanted my photo taken. with her. anyone who knows me, would have seen the fear on my face, handing the camera over, and the photo needs one of those black boxes over my head… but josie looks very lovely. and thank you to her husband for taking it. sweet.

faces – adam – FACE – south downtown

adam was also at the FACE event, snapping away at style. i didn’t think it was cool when someone made a joke re: his hat. one of my least favourite things is someone picking away at someone else’s personal style. and with a microphone, to a group of people, so he can be your joke… just plain bad manners. for the other photo of adam, and his hat Read more

spring chic – downtown seattle

hats+glasses – the girls – SAMRemix – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

last friday i attended my third samremix, and they just keep getting better. not only was it an amazing party (in a great space) but there were so many diverse styles and people, it made for great people watching.

i’ve decided to break my posts out into specific categories, check back tomorrow for hats+glasses+mustaches – the boys Read more

birds of a feather – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

sometimes i lose track of photos that i really like… this was taken around christmas i think, and for some reason never got posted. these people were in a hurry- i took 3 photos, and in each one, one of them is doing something different. they literally ran away from me for a bus…

ladylike details – beth – post alley – seattle

From needle+thread

beth’s hat from milliner wayne wichern.

From needle+thread

i need a little pick me up today.

i’ve been seeing little details like that sunny yellow skirt here and there. little tells that say ‘i’m thinking of spring’. i did it myself just the other day. layered up to the nines, cropped denim , mary janes, and no socks. 50 degrees and no socks. i’m so ready for spring.

urban classic – dre – pike place market

From needle+thread

so many people down milling about… AND they were filming a movie. dre performs down in the market…

color + fur – heather – pike place market

From needle+thread

heather works at cicada. i (again) don’t want to mention how long we followed her… but when she stopped for donuts in the market, we stopped to chat. love the over the top hat.

trapper hat – chris ? – capitol hill

From needle+thread

vintage inspiration – kate – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

usually when i think vintage inspiration… it’s not as far back as the late 1800’s. kate made that skirt, and it was even cooler from the back, with a modified (friendly to sitting) bustle. she’s a talented lady… find her here.

bike break – pike place market

From needle+thread

i came upon this guy while walking…he was having a bite, leaning up against his bike. it was so casual, and such a nice night to enjoy… there was just an air to the moment. i felt bad bothering him for a picture, and almost didn’t ask, just took it. the 2nd one, i’m not sure if he saw me snap it… i like these moments when someone is just enjoying…

we play favourites – antonio – blogmeetblog

From needle+thread

you may have seen the video i linked to about the meetup, it was crafted by this handy man… antonio. i sent him a note asking if there was more to come from visualtypenoise, but haven’t heard back.

model citizens – shay + paul – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

i’ve run into these guys a few times now… and regardless of how i feel about people accosting me on the sidewalk asking for money or time or whatever… i basically do the same thing. these guys brought a smile to my face when i finally asked for a picture and this is what i got. i love the silly spirit of it.

matching set – christopher + tifan – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

the dogs are pretty cute too.

friends – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

i have some very stylish friends.  gopi, i think, was actually voted most stylish guy in seattle one year, and maria looks good even when she decides at the very last minute that she’s going out with us.  both of them seem to embrace style pretty effortlessly, and i love the easy grace of what they wear and how they wear it.  i think maria’s quote that night was, ‘anything looks good if you’re wearing red lipstick’.  i agree.

friends – SAM Remix – seattle

i like how both girls are rocking similar boots, in completely different ways.  although i’m not in my ‘hair has to be short’ phase, i was drawn all night to capture the ladies with cropped do’s.  so good!

wink + smile – maria + tara – SAM Remix – Seattle

From needle+thread

sometimes what makes a night even more fun, are the people you enjoy it with. i like really serious, stuffy people. as you can see. thanks ladies for the fun night!

great accessories – elisa – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

which only makes sense.  since she’s the design director of accessories at the big N.  loved the layering, and that skirt seemed to possibly be a sweater dress (or have a sweater yoke?)… i can’t get enough of the oversize stitch knits.  cowls, cocoon sweaters… i’ve gone a little overboard.  and those boots… lovee how boots are coming with the burnishing.  finally!  you don’t have to wear them in to get that great aged patina.
