Tag leather jacket

cowgirl – meriesther – downtown seattle

pieced together – tom – 619 – pioneer square

the color on this photo is lacking… but the detail of everything layered was too much to pass up. also, i didn’t see when i took the photo that he was brown paper bagging it… nice.

black + black – kelly – seattle center

i loved that prior to this pose, kelly’s friend walked behind me, and she burst out laughing. i wasn’t quite quick enough. she is very fierce. and there’s something about girls wearing tough boots- striking… also, side note (the tee) blondie will be performing at chateau st. michelle this summer.

when doves fly – backstage pass – pacific northwest ballet

From needle+thread

i was invited last week to attend another performance of ‘3 by dove’ by pacific northwest ballet, and also the co-ordinating backstage pass event appropriately titled ‘when doves fly’. if you don’t know about backstage pass… they’re a group of 20-40 somethings who promote interest in the ballet by selling a selection of tickets from the season and then hosting events either before or after the performance.  it’s a non-intimidating way to enjoy the ballet (when you don’t know anything about the ballet) and who doesn’t like to mingle or have a cocktail when you’re already out.

this event was one of their bigger ones of the year, and was great for style watching, people watching, and of course, sneaking around backstage…

above dancers chal and lucien- she’s wearing a vest that she said he found for her (and louboutins?), and he’s got a pair of carole mcklellan leather pants. Read more

great guy style – john – city center – seattle

From needle+thread

i think john’s style is a perfect illustration how easy it is for a guy to look great on a pretty minimalistic level. fitted denim, a cool jacket and fun kicks… he’s done. and looks amazing.  i think the key to getting this right is all in the fit.

ecletic mix – reynelle – SAMRemix – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

there’s something about this that catches me off guard every time i look at this photo. there’s such a mix here.  the washed leather jacket, the batman tee.  her shoes are adorable, and separate, i’d never think of all of this together.  this illustrates not only a sense of style, but a sense of self.  and hey lady, nice gams!

musical style – guy fantastico/nick – capitol hill

From needle+thread

i asked this gentleman’s name and with no pause, he said ‘guy fantastico!’. the ability to become who you want, even in something so small as an introduction… inspiring. guy made his t-shirt (applique monsters) and i loved the flower pinned to his jacket…

check back tomorrow for the start of the SAMRemix pictures…

birds of a feather – karla + maria – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

i like all the knit detail going on here… i’ve been wearing a ton over-size organic shaped sweaters, and feel like they go with anything. also, i don’t know if that’s a scarf… the blue- but i’m digging on the unexpected shape and color.

biker chic – rachel – pike place market

so many details here that are wearable right now, and she puts them all together so well… leather jacket, fingerless gloves, legging, boots, cowl sweater. she looks warm AND stylish. perfect.

sparkle+shine – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

so many trends here… wide belt, sequin legging, leather jacket, boots… she brings it together, and of course it helps that she looks fierce.

andria of emerald city sightings says-

Leather and candy. That’s the combo going on here. Only a select few can pull off one single material head to toe – not to mention that material being Leather – but this gal did it and definitely got my attention. The harsh material, pixie cut, and dark colors, combated by her feminine makeup and bright red lips create a great balance and keep her from looking like a biker babe. Turns out she writes a local fashion blog and was all too eager to take a few fun shots in the candy aisle. Rough yet angelic demeanor. Angelica.
