Tag leggins

young + fun – ben – international district

this first week of the new job has been FUN! i’ve already learned a ton about legwear. like jeggings, and treggings… who knew? i saw ben and had to get a picture. i’ll be designing some legwear for spring 11 over the weekend… would love to hear your thoughts on the legging trends!

matching set – blaine + chrisitian – sam remix – seattle

we saw these two a few times through the night (nice spot erin!). i very literally wanted to ‘borrow’ that jacket… and i had to get a shot of the shoes…

metallic + leather – joshua – sam remix – seattle

hard + soft – melanie – 619 – pioneer square

sometimes when i snap photos of younger people, i’m reminded how easy style can be. if you want to wear it, you do.

black + black – kelly – seattle center

i loved that prior to this pose, kelly’s friend walked behind me, and she burst out laughing. i wasn’t quite quick enough. she is very fierce. and there’s something about girls wearing tough boots- striking… also, side note (the tee) blondie will be performing at chateau st. michelle this summer.

concert style – ??? – south downtown

traveling alone to a show, and perusing the younger crowd is intimidating. maybe it’s flashbacks to highschool… i really liked this hoodie, it looked so cozy.  and those boots, those boots were the whole reason i stopped her.  i thought she was rock, without being ‘rock’.

matching set – kate + ryan – fremont

one of the fun side-effects of having a blog, is meeting cool, creative people. last weekend i strolled around with kate (we met when i took a picture of her in a very cool skirt she MADE) and ryan, who also love to snap pictures, and happen to be very stylish.

new addition – jesslyn – downtown seattle

it’s odd to me to think that i know of 19 people who have had, or will have (in the next few months) a baby. that seems like a bit of a boom to me. i love seeing someone who doesn’t cater to the dressing challenge existing on her front mid-section. i recently attended a baby shower (the mom-to-be had her baby like 2 days later) and she looked more put together than anyone in the room, and quite frankly, adorable (somewhat uncomfortable?). anyway… to cute pregnant ladies! (another cute mom i spotted a while ago)

singer style – kristen – south downtown – seattle

From needle+thread

it’s hard to fall in love with celebrity style. someone else is dressing them anyway… maybe if i could see how those people dress? i’ve found it to be easier to fall in love with the style of women musicians, and recently had the opportunity to meet one. there’s something to be said for getting an up close look of what ‘on the road‘ means, and a guarantee you, it doesn’t involve a lot of closet space.   kristen of vedera spared an hour of her time in seattle to talk with me about her personal style. to see our interview- needleplusthread on the seattle post intelligencer.

i also got a chance to hear vedera perform and was impressed.  similar in feel to eisley (but not as… sad? gloomy?) i loved kristen’s voice live.  this free download of their new single satisfy from their newly released album just might hook you.

beach-boho – claudia – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

i love when i see someone, and think… i want everything she’s wearing! from the cowl scarf, cozy grey sweater… the long belted cardigan. i think it all looks great, and regardless of how cold it was, she looked warm and reminded me of beaches in so-cal.  it’s inspiring to see someone wearing sweaters and jeans in a new way.  fresh.

biker chic – rachel – pike place market

From needle+thread

so many details here that are wearable right now, and she puts them all together so well… leather jacket, fingerless gloves, legging, boots, cowl sweater. she looks warm AND stylish. perfect.

also posted to the P-I edition – our new weekly, wednesday street style feature!

sparkle+shine – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

so many trends here… wide belt, sequin legging, leather jacket, boots… she brings it together, and of course it helps that she looks fierce.

ladylike chic – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

love the gold handbag (vintage?) and big chunky earring.  also love the combo of the high wasted longer skirt with the lace legging.  she put her own twist on the look and it looks just right.

mixed neutrals + color – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

there were several things about this that caught my eye… color spectrum opposites, interesting choice of handbag (it works!), metallic trim on the shrug, black AND brown… sometimes i really love what individualists seattlites are.  the looks is unique, and on top of that… it’s perfect.

vogue – front row fashion – 80’s Redux

From needle+thread

From needle+thread

there wasn’t a lot about 80’s redux i loved. colour. i did like all the colour. and you’ll note those shoes were captured by n+t on the lovely andrea… ages ago. the rest of the 80’s redux album

guest post – piercing beauty – christiana – london

From needle+thread

One of my favorites – possibly because I could never have the guts for this getup – OR because she had the most polite, fragile personality. Exactly why we must never judge a book by its cover. Dissect her whole look and you’ll see a lot going on; but all together, and it meshes quite well. Her TALL boots, oversized bag, three-layered top and assortment of accessories must have doubled the weight of her 5’1’’ stature…haha. Cristiana. Packed a punch with her florescent hair.

andria of emerald city sightings says-

Leather and candy. That’s the combo going on here. Only a select few can pull off one single material head to toe – not to mention that material being Leather – but this gal did it and definitely got my attention. The harsh material, pixie cut, and dark colors, combated by her feminine makeup and bright red lips create a great balance and keep her from looking like a biker babe. Turns out she writes a local fashion blog and was all too eager to take a few fun shots in the candy aisle. Rough yet angelic demeanor. Angelica.

bloggers love chocolate – rebecca – the clothes horse – fremont

From needle+thread

we had a mini, test-run blogger meet up this sunday. we went to theo chocolates in fremont. where they basically talk a lot, and give you chocolate to keep you interested. rebecca hails from the clothes horse… her blue bow was so lovely (and it matches her nail polish!).
