one of the fun side-effects of having a blog, is meeting cool, creative people. last weekend i strolled around with kate (we met when i took a picture of her in a very cool skirt she MADE) and ryan, who also love to snap pictures, and happen to be very stylish.

it’s hard to fall in love with celebrity style. someone else is dressing them anyway… maybe if i could see how those people dress? i’ve found it to be easier to fall in love with the style of women musicians, and recently had the opportunity to meet one. there’s something to be said for getting an up close look of what ‘on the road‘ means, and a guarantee you, it doesn’t involve a lot of closet space. kristen of vedera spared an hour of her time in seattle to talk with me about her personal style. to see our interview- needleplusthread on the seattle post intelligencer.

Here comes the glitter again. I have a feeling that none of this was bought right off the rack. Her worn-in Converse and faded jeans give her overall look a thrown together vibe which may or may not be even accurate. in between fashion shows, i made it to first thursday. i can see now, it was a lot for me to do in a week. and after running from northgate, to kent, to bellevue, to downtown, editing pictures, and monitoring each passerby for style, my mind wasn’t on ME. i made a grotesque-ly bad footwear choice, and by the end of the night, i was barefoot in the rain. better than deformed feet i guess, or falling on my butt. i like this series from SAM, my week of pictures was predominantly younger…
