i have no idea what each new generation does anymore (it’s cause i’m an old lady) but i grew up listening to my parents records. that MUST still happen. it makes me sad to think of it NOT happening. and in that vein, i can say that i enjoyed these songs, and these musicians, and the spirit behind these music makers. i don’t know all of their music, but i have some of their albums. and i simply CANNOT hear a song from ‘tapestry’ and not get a little misty for my mom, or hear her voice in my mind belting along. she’s a belter. i’ve always appreciated that about her. except when i was a teenager, and then it was the most mortifying thing i’d ever experienced.
