it’s been a hectic week. and what it is it… tuesday? yikes. it was nice to visit the triple door and hear shelby lynne. i was in love with this song when i was about 15 (cut me some slack, i grew up on country). she’s still as sultry and sexy as i remembered, and i loved, LOVED those boots. be sure to check out gene stout’s write up, and to see more photos click Read more
i wasn’t going to post this week. i’m somewhat over-committed. but when i got these pictures, i didn’t want to hold them all the way till next week… and i think there’s some amazing personal style here (also be sure to check out the write up with gene stout). i’ll be back to daily posts next monday- i’ll have photos from two functions (FACE event, and red carpet ball supporting lupus) and plan on participating in the 24 hour shoot. to see all of these photos, be sure to click Read more
i loved that prior to this pose, kelly’s friend walked behind me, and she burst out laughing. i wasn’t quite quick enough. she is very fierce. and there’s something about girls wearing tough boots- striking… also, side note (the tee) blondie will be performing at chateau st. michelle this summer.
of course i’m a fan of black on black. that being said, it’s so refreshing to see people mix it up, and add their own twist on it. my favourite details? the cans (plaid!) and his kicks… and for some reason the girls in the background give this shot that ‘cool guy in school’ feeling. which was perfect, since we were on our way to dance #2 in the seattle glee flash mob.
the headliner for the night was angels and airwaves. showbox sodo was packed (all ages). i had a fun time walking the line, and although i don’t like asking minors for pictures, what was really interesting, was the unisex tee-skinny jean-cool kicks-hoodie uniform. i almost wished for an opportunity to do a group photo. there was mixing it up… but very cool (to me) to see how pervasive it was. thanks to after dark for sending me, hope you enjoy all the photos, click to Read more
featured in the boys hats+glasses+mustaches, here’s anthony full length. i’m always a fan of all black, especially when someone makes it their own…
i asked this gentleman’s name and with no pause, he said ‘guy fantastico!’. the ability to become who you want, even in something so small as an introduction… inspiring. guy made his t-shirt (applique monsters) and i loved the flower pinned to his jacket…
check back tomorrow for the start of the SAMRemix pictures…
it’s not likely you’ve seen gavin and stacy, but if you have, doesn’t this lovely lady look like a slimmed down, sex kitten version of nessa? i love all the color on the bag…
i’ve been lucky recently to take my camera places i don’t normally get to (begging works!).
tonight i went to see a great show, at a gem of a venue in seattle (neko case, travis, snow patrol, keane have all played amazing shows there) the moore- playing tonight- suzanne vega.
it’s touching to get a glimpse of where songs you love have come from- gypsy (such a gorgeous song) written at the age of 18 for a summer love. caramel… a song you hear and can’t help the urge of taking a naughty bite of something (or someone) is about just that… wanting something you can’t have.
i have been wanting one of those oversize knit caps. mainly just so i don’t have to fix my hair, but also because i think they’re so urban (and they’d ‘go’ with my oversize, chunky knit obsession). who remembers what designer did them a few years back… was it marc jacobs?
isn’t his jacket fab?
have you missed me? i’ve missed you! and what better way to start than with a bang. i had a lovely meander tuesday morning with jaunty magpie. we spotted kate a block away. it makes you feel a bit of a lurker to follow a woman for a few blocks, but these boots! and of course kate worked at nordstrom. a lady THAT chic…had to be. i love the mix of that EPIC boot, and her very ladylike j.crew coat.
i have some very stylish friends. gopi, i think, was actually voted most stylish guy in seattle one year, and maria looks good even when she decides at the very last minute that she’s going out with us. both of them seem to embrace style pretty effortlessly, and i love the easy grace of what they wear and how they wear it. i think maria’s quote that night was, ‘anything looks good if you’re wearing red lipstick’. i agree.
