friends – SAM Remix – seattle

i like how both girls are rocking similar boots, in completely different ways.  although i’m not in my ‘hair has to be short’ phase, i was drawn all night to capture the ladies with cropped do’s.  so good!

high shine – tessa – SAM Remix – Seattle

From needle+thread

i looked at a jacket very similar to this and passed.  it was a drab olive color… LOVE it in black.  would have bought it in a second in black.

does she have the most amazing hair or what?

myles – neiman marcus opening gala – bellevue

From needle+thread

myles was such a sweet, quiet man, first i took a close up, but when i came around to the see the rest of it, i was delighted by his gold shoes. and although quiet, you can see the gleam in his eye. thanks for great tunes by which to ‘gala’ myles, the MJ mix was especially cool.

black + black – cake – bumbershoot

this is cake. he’s in the band dry season. i liked the color of his mohawk. and his choice to keep it simple while rocking.

black on black – kennedy – NDP, downtown seattle

black on black – nicole – NDP, downtown seattle

black + white – sang – capitol hill

i asked sang how he kept his shoes so white… not a spot on them.  he said he wears other shoes.  good answer.

modern gentleman – jj – capitol hill

i love being surprised by people.  it doesn’t happen often.  i saw jj crossing the street, and not to intrude, watched to see if i could catch his eye and politely ask for a picture.  i was basically standing on a corner with a camera, and before i got a word out, he posed and asked for a snap.  love it.

comic book hero – dre – downtown seattle

bike style – downtown seattle

there’s something i’ve always admired about bike messengers.  i’m not sure how to put it into words, but i was so flummoxed asking this guy for his pic, i didn’t even ask for his name.  or if i did, i have no recollection.  it was like talking with one of the cool kids… soooo junior high.  but in the city, bike messengers are my cool kids.  it’s a form of reverence.  not only do they ride bikes in hazardous traffic situations… they look cool, have tattoos and drink a lot of coffee.  and that guy’s shirt says ‘hella’.  i *heart* bike messenger style… (sigh…)

inspiration update (thanks to lauren)- good louis vuitton link here

black on black – ryan – fremont solstice

layered ombre – nikki – fremont via NY

black on black – man selling bikes – fremont

not many men pull this off.  tough, dirty, macho, and then the necklace… love the dichotomy.

dressy casual – edward – pike place market

tessa style – capitol hill

this is tessa… having heard about how cute she dressed, i was delighted upon actually meeting her.  mix of pattern, thrift, great finds for a steal… girl after my own heart.  and that coat !  she found that at nordstrom rack. every girl could use a little shine.  (sorry about the rain blobs !, it IS seattle)
