color – zach – barney’s – downtown seattle

many apologies to this smiley gent, who’s name i did ask for, but i somehow didn’t jot down. if you know him, drop me a line, and i’ll fill it in.

urban prep – morgan – downtown seattle

plaid + cardi – j.r. – pioneer square

i often get shy stopping men on the street for photos. i wanted to ask j.r. about his tatoos, but… figured asking for a photo was enough.  love the very prep belt detail and cardi next to all the ink.

kid style – olivia – ballard

layers – steve – downtown seattle

i thought the layered cardigans was an interesting detail…

urban casual – josie – bellevue

josie bissett was so NICE! i’m not accustomed to approaching celebs for photos… when i shoot music, i take the photos i want for 3 songs, and then have to leave. but i asked her for a full style shot, and on top of graciously posing, her husband then asked if i wanted my photo taken. with her. anyone who knows me, would have seen the fear on my face, handing the camera over, and the photo needs one of those black boxes over my head… but josie looks very lovely. and thank you to her husband for taking it. sweet.

royalty – hrh crown princess of sweden victoria – ballard

crown princess victoria seattle

i didn’t think it was that odd to show up with a gift for a princess. is that weird? she’s royalty. i was made to feel like i showed up with a BOMB (books and flowers are sometimes scary, but i was taught you don’t show up empty handed- manners people, they’re not completely eradicated in america). i won’t even go in to the details surrounding taking a few photos of this very pretty woman.  her… pr person? consulate representative? embassy handler? was extremely courteous (root word court! i’m a word nerd) everyone else needed to bring it down about a 1000. for more photos of the her royal highness, click Read more

concert style – peter – downtown seattle

with as many concerts as i’ve been to, i’ve been trying to notice common details. chucks are easy. denim, concert tees… faux glasses seem to be an ongoing trend, and then maybe that it’s spring… headbands. seeing one on this gentleman was unexpected, and i loved it on him!

street cred – tom – downtown seattle

of course i’m a fan of black on black. that being said, it’s so refreshing to see people mix it up, and add their own twist on it. my favourite details? the cans (plaid!) and his kicks… and for some reason the girls in the background give this shot that ‘cool guy in school’ feeling. which was perfect, since we were on our way to dance #2 in the seattle glee flash mob.

sunny – marisa – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

it’s sunny and 70, it’s rainy and 42… ahhh spring in seattle. let’s keep our fingers crossed for somewhere in the middle of the extremes for artwalk today.

i know marisa told me where she got her adorable dress, but i can’t for the life of me remember.  looks like she’s already had her spring pedicure too… nothing like pretty polish to make you want to bear your toes again, 40 degrees or not…

black + white – calvin – ais student show – sodo

today’s a pictorial treat. since i went to SAMRemix over the weekend, and have a few (hundred) pictures to post, i thought i’d get to these first and start the SAM series tomorrow. these last few are some of my favourites from that day- hope you enjoy!

matching set – kate + ryan – fremont

From needle+thread

one of the fun side-effects of having a blog, is meeting cool, creative people. last weekend i strolled around with kate (we met when i took a picture of her in a very cool skirt she MADE) and ryan, who also love to snap pictures, and happen to be very stylish.

beach-boho – claudia – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

i love when i see someone, and think… i want everything she’s wearing! from the cowl scarf, cozy grey sweater… the long belted cardigan. i think it all looks great, and regardless of how cold it was, she looked warm and reminded me of beaches in so-cal.  it’s inspiring to see someone wearing sweaters and jeans in a new way.  fresh.

we play favourites – emerald dandy – blogmeetblog – seattle

From needle+thread

i’m kidding.  kind of.  i had a room full of favourites… and i was such trash at taking pictures that night.  i think it was the nerves.  but it was nice to see some friendly faces, i might even go so far as laughing faces… mr. e. dandy makes me smile.  he’s such a doll.  i wish i had taken a picture of everyone who made me smile… we’d have posts for the next month…

p.s. i believe emerald dandy’s site is unavailable due to renovations… but check back.  i’ll put the link up as soon as it’s available.

fawn + lightning – amanda + kate – SAM Remix – Seattle

From needle+thread

i once read an article in some magazine about how a woman who’s past her 20′s should be careful how she chooses to use graphics/graphic tee’s.  i wanted to write in about what a load of crap it all was, but my time is better spent.  like taking pictures of people who do a great job sporting graphic tee’s.  and age schmage.  if you like it, my bet is you can wear it.

i loved her simple style (i’m in love with ANYTHING cardigan right now).  and her hair had been done for a hair show she had been in that morning.  it was so pretty, and the sparkle bow was just the right thing…

SAM – samantha – first thursday – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

i’m relishing this faux glasses thing… the bigger the better.
