i often get shy stopping men on the street for photos. i wanted to ask j.r. about his tatoos, but… figured asking for a photo was enough. love the very prep belt detail and cardi next to all the ink.

olivier was such a sport to come out in the drizzle so i could capture his bright white kicks and gingham.

finally! i was happy to meet korby in front of sam last weekend (while shooting with alice wheeler) and get this stylish gent on a bike. korby also let me know about frances farmer organ karaoke, which happens after artwalk. sounds FUN!

artwalk was last night… did you go? what did you see? i usually like to just wander around. even before i started toting my camera. now i like to venture one direction and see what i find…
last night was good. not a ton of people out (was it the weather?) but a good night. who else spotted the seattle con peeps?
elizabeth had an amazing handbag that i wish i’d captured, the color is beautiful…
when doves fly – backstage pass – pacific northwest ballet

i was invited last week to attend another performance of ’3 by dove’ by pacific northwest ballet, and also the co-ordinating backstage pass event appropriately titled ‘when doves fly’. if you don’t know about backstage pass… they’re a group of 20-40 somethings who promote interest in the ballet by selling a selection of tickets from the season and then hosting events either before or after the performance. it’s a non-intimidating way to enjoy the ballet (when you don’t know anything about the ballet) and who doesn’t like to mingle or have a cocktail when you’re already out.
this event was one of their bigger ones of the year, and was great for style watching, people watching, and of course, sneaking around backstage…

i think john’s style is a perfect illustration how easy it is for a guy to look great on a pretty minimalistic level. fitted denim, a cool jacket and fun kicks… he’s done. and looks amazing. i think the key to getting this right is all in the fit.
