dancer style – lindsi + karel – pacific northwest ballet – seattle

From needle+thread

still looking for something to do with your valentine this weekend?  i recently received an email about the ‘sleeping beauty’ pnb performances running last weekend and this one (tickets still available), it got me thinking that i probably wouldn’t know a dancer on the street if i saw one, and wondering what they wear on a daily, off-stage basis.

lindsi and karel were kind enough to let me get a peek.   Read more

primary pop – lexi – outdoor retailer – slc

From needle+thread

there were a few people i saw over and over, and i wish i’d asked for a picture each day. some people just know how to put it together.

sweater detail – kelly – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

this past sunday was the no pants subway ride (started 9 years ago in NY by improv everywhere). as much as i wanted to catch some of the no pants action, i didn’t really feel like riding the train out to the airport (i drive past the airport everyday). instead i opted to catch some of the crowd, and even with pants, i found plenty to choose from. i loved this sweater and wish i would have asked where it came from.

i’ve also posted this on the P-I site with links to the no pants coverage.

gora was so dapper, how could i not stop him. great mix of pattern, and new and old. love it when a guy does something out of the ordinary.

bike break – pike place market

i came upon this guy while walking…he was having a bite, leaning up against his bike. it was so casual, and such a nice night to enjoy… there was just an air to the moment. i felt bad bothering him for a picture, and almost didn’t ask, just took it. the 2nd one, i’m not sure if he saw me snap it… i like these moments when someone is just enjoying…

denim + dressy – craig – pike place market

From needle+thread

the other night i walked the market at sunset… it was so crisp, and there were so many people who looked on their way to somewhere. i liked his little bit of dressy, but still casual. perfect for december.

we play favourites – antonio – blogmeetblog

From needle+thread

you may have seen the video i linked to about the meetup, it was crafted by this handy man… antonio. i sent him a note asking if there was more to come from visualtypenoise, but haven’t heard back.

friends – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

i have some very stylish friends.  gopi, i think, was actually voted most stylish guy in seattle one year, and maria looks good even when she decides at the very last minute that she’s going out with us.  both of them seem to embrace style pretty effortlessly, and i love the easy grace of what they wear and how they wear it.  i think maria’s quote that night was, ‘anything looks good if you’re wearing red lipstick’.  i agree.

i like how both girls are rocking similar boots, in completely different ways.  although i’m not in my ‘hair has to be short’ phase, i was drawn all night to capture the ladies with cropped do’s.  so good!

fashionable trio – SAM Remix – seattle

From needle+thread

so many good looking, put together people at this party.  made for easy work, and then it was off to dance…

black + white – ian – urban blowout – bellevue fashion week

simple chic – eleanor – SAM – downtown seattle

From needle+thread

i always feel like something doesn’t have to be fussy to look put together- it’s one of my favourite details… eleanor looks finished. dark denim, an interesting coat, the scarf, flats… so simple, with a great result.

old friends – molly + kam – nordstrom fashion show – bellevue fashion week

From needle+thread

molly and i worked together when i designed kid’s clothes at nordstrom. it’s always fun to run into friendly faces at these events… i wanted her t-strap shoes. lots of people asked about my dress, it’s my own design, and i made it a few years ago for a cocktail party.
