the fash pack – stephanie – downtown seattle
there’s kind of a fashion nucleus centered around the big N (as i’ve referred to it for many years). i’ve noticed it before, and if you want an easy photo… all you have to do is stand at the corner of 6th and pine. stephanie said she’d been asked for 3 photos this week. i loved a) her hair- wish i would have asked for a side shot. it was a dark brown fade? would that be the word? and practically a mohawk… but completely chic. and b) those shoes.
happy friday!
pretty – molly – nordstrom – bellevue
molly ringwald has written a book. i’m book critical, and i would read it TOMORROW. i’m praying the pr liason from nordstrom remembers me, and sends me a copy *hint hint*. actually, both of the passages she read from, got me just a little… not teary… but kind of, constricted. sometimes the most moving things are listening to another human talk about something they’ve come to realize, and you think… i’ve realized that VERY thing. and i love the idea that we need to see ourselves, as grown women, as pretty again. it’s not something that goes away with girlhood. for upcoming book dates with molly, visit her facebook page.
there was also a fashion show of ‘not your daughters jeans‘ prior to molly coming out… and josie bissett was in the audience (picture tomorrow). that nordstrom, they know how to throw an event. for all of the photos click Read more
pretty in print – laura – south downtown seattle
what a night last night! so much fun, so many interesting (and well dressed) people… where to begin? laura cassidy of wear what when on seattle met magazine (pictured above) asked me to come and ‘do what you do’. we’ll consider it scene capturing… mingling, talking about style, checking out the 2000 degree pizza oven from via tribunali. figures i go to a fashion show and end up listening to hip hop and watching the boys make pizza. so much to see, and so much to document. check back next week for my shots from the night. i’ll also be posting a photo an hour starting 12am tomorrow (cause you know i’ll be up sewing)…

pop of color – shalonne – crown hill value village
| From needle+thread |
many of you know shalonne. and as much as i sometimes dread attending events on my own (shocking that my husband doesn’t want to attend every fashion event, I KNOW!) she’s usually one of the friendly faces i can count on being in the crowd. i’ve been remiss in not having a picture of her sooner (i somehow become shy pestering friends for photos) because she always has some element to her style or outfit that’s unique or, to my own enjoyment, vintage. a favourite was a little square vintage purse (think book-like) that had little compartments for powder and lipstick.
i think she said her pants were from paris, but they reminded me of these rag and bone trousers.
cute coat – sheena – SAMRemix – downtown seattle

i’ve never seen sheena wearing something that isn’t enviable in some way. shopping in london has it’s privileges.
and my husband caught one of the both of us. Read more
ecletic mix – reynelle – SAMRemix – downtown seattle
| From needle+thread |
there’s something about this that catches me off guard every time i look at this photo. there’s such a mix here. the washed leather jacket, the batman tee. her shoes are adorable, and separate, i’d never think of all of this together. this illustrates not only a sense of style, but a sense of self. and hey lady, nice gams!
