i’ve said it before, and it bears repeating…the nordstrom can put on a show. a sea of well dressed, the most spectacular shoes you’ve seen- ever, a cocktail i have to replicate, a salted caramel bite of heaven… and to top it off, 600 photos of fall runway from the biggest names in fashion. uhm, yes please. and it all went down somewhere in the nether regions of magnolia?

i could gush and gush… but alas, my toes are tired, my eyes are tired, and i totally just realized i’m shooting capitol hill block party tomorrow night.  er…zzzzzzzz

i promise you image after image to delight (did i mention people were wearing amazing shoes?) and plan to have nordstrom fall runway, and some band or another (is it sad i haven’t checked out the lineup?) up before sunday rolls round.  happy friday!  xoxox- n+t

i’m picky when it comes to dress up. i like comfort in my dressy. that usually means at least an a-line, and if i can swing it… something shift like. none of these looks were all that wearable for me, but they were certainly gorgeous. lots of jewel-tone and sparkle. see all 23 evening glam looks in the album.

as a guy, i don’t know how i’d feel about walking down the runway in the ‘lady sophisticate’ grouping, but i suppose as a sophisticated lady, i’d want my guy to be on par with my ‘sophistication’. i think by far (gowns excluded) these were my favourite looks, and that feather skirt is just for sheena. see all the lady sophisticate looks in the album.

one of the things i loved about all the shows, the use of hosiery. i am a tight/sock addict. i think seeing how they’ve put some of these looks together is inspiring- that floral lace look (texture) and color were predominant… want to see the rest of the topcoats? visit the front row topcoat album.

that first dress with the long necklaces and boots, gorgeous. that long patchwork cardigan, not so much. overall it does look good, i’m just not into that cardigan. and then i was drawn to that 2nd look, again, anything that sparkles… and do you see the trend with beige? it’s kind of dreamy. i don’t know that i’d do it allover- i see that second look with some leggings and tall boots. to view all the haute hippie looks, visit the album on picasa.

if there’s one designer from this fashion show i can see myself wearing, it’s leifsdottir. mix of color and print (kind of like a wacky aunt) tights, cardi’s… all me. loved every look, and might just have to take myself to nordstrom and see what i can work in. to see all the runway looks, visit the leifsdottir album.

i’d rate milly 2nd on personally wearable- not to say the clothes weren’t gorgeous. i love the little bit of metallic, that peacock pattern was amazing, and used throughout, and i loved this very retro coat. to see all the milly runway looks, visit the milly album on my picasa.

i personally couldn’t pull off that first look, but… i do love it. the trim jacket, and tuxedo stripe trousers… very subtle military. and the guys look… i’m a sucker for a guy in a vest. especially this casual… again, subtle military styling. want to see all the rag & bone looks? visit the rag & bone album.

i’m such a magpie. i love the sparkle. and again that oversize, organic shape knit… i’m not super crazy about all over beige… but i have a feeling beige is here to stay. oh, and thank god glasses are in. i’ve only been wearing them since 3rd grade. ; ) the rest of the elizabeth+james runway pictures.
