i had one of these in art school, for my drawing pencils. it made me feel LEGIT to take it out and start sketching.
 
i dug it out recently, and my daughter so enjoyed it, i thought... duh. coloring at restaurants has always been a life saver, now i pop this in my bag, and we can have full on drawing battles til the food arrives.
 
i guess i decided to go big, because this was the largest one they offered- 24 spots for all your creative drawing utensils, plus a wider additional spot at each end for an eraser or perhaps a lovely brass ruler? since the outside is a little plain canvas utilitarian, i figured they'd be perfect for self expression with some fabric or acrylic paint, and making them completely customized. win win!
